Jyoti special School, Rishikesh

Jyoti bears the torch light to the mentally challenged and the deaf and dumb children for their training and rehabilitation.

This special school has the specially designed classrooms, furniture, workshop, lab, physiotherapy centre and speech therapy centre, playground, a well equipped mini auditorium digitalized and physiotherapy centre.

The school is the dream project of Shri H.V. Sharma, Secretary, SBM School Society which came into existence in 1993 and was inaugurated by HH Swami Chidanand ji Maharaj President, Divine Life Society, Swarga Ashram.

As a special school it has won laurels for its infrastructure, qualified staff, co-curricular activities.

Special Education for The Hearing Impaired : We provide special education to the hearing impaired from Nursary to 8th Standard. Coaching is also done for the Secondary classes (9th and 10th) from the National Institute of Open Schooling.

Special Education for The Mentally & Physically Challenged : We provide special education to the mentally and physically challenged and the other children with the special needs for their learing problems and poor academic performaces due to mental retardation, nurological, psychological, physiological, physical or behavioural problems like poor vision, epileptic attacks (seizures), ADHD, Autism, Down ‘s Syndrome, Dysphasia or Hemiplegia or other physical or gait problems. According to their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
